DONKONG has become an anchor point of the german bass music scene and beyond. Their taste and skills in songwriting and sound design brought international focus to their work.
Branching out from Los Angeles (Play Me Records) over London (Punks Music) to Melbourne (Adapted Records) their songs got played around the globe by names like MAJOR LAZER, DAVID GUETTA, STEVE AOKI, AFROJACK, DJ SHADOW and even that MARTIN GARRIX kid had them in his Spotify Playlist. But Johannes (Cop Dickie) and Thomas (Tom Finster) did not come out of nowhere; they’ve been working with some of the most successful german singers and bands like KRAFTKLUB and were credited with a platinum record for the music on CASPER’s “XOXO”.
Both started as hiphop bedroom producers 600 km distant from each other, as their taste for electronic music gravitated them in 2012. Soon after they already showed teeth with their first single JAWS, combining Hiphop and Global Bass influences with their love for movies. After that, they picked up where Trap and Moombahton lost their ways and delivered a bouncing club anthem with FOCUS. To finally find their sound in singles like BOUNCE, BRILLIANT and BASSLINE JUNK, while still experimenting and exploring other territories.”
